Do your sash windows persistently rattle?
Rattling sashes are a common affliction as sash windows age. When a sash window doesn’t fit properly in its tracks due to warping, it rattles at the slightest wind or vibration, such as a lorry thundering past. Loose putty on the panes themself can also be a problem creating unwanted noise.
Remove Rattles
We will take down the offending window before resizing the frame and clearing out its track.
We will reputty any loose panes to secure them and cease any glass rattle and rehang your repaired window.
While repairing a rattling window, it is also a good time to consider upgrading your window with Draught-Proofing to further secure the window and benefit from better thermal efficiency in your home.

Repel The Elements
We remove the old mastic pointing and replace the backing with expanding foam to prime the window for our burnt sand and linseed oil mastic pointing.
This establishes a long lasting, completely wind and water tight seal between the window and surrounding stonework.
